Traditionally, statement documents are produced in a long, drawn out process. Shells, or blanks, of the statement template are produced on conventional offset presses in large volumes, and then they’re cut down to fit through a digital printing press. The shells are then stored until orders come through, and as data for an individual print run is processed, small volumes of the shells are imprinted with personalized data before finally heading to the mailing department for folding, inserting, addressing and delivery.
Depending on your printing partners’ setup – that’s a minimum of five steps a single document has to go through to get to the intended recipient. We see several issues with this process:
- You’re paying for labor at each and every step along the way. Not to mention, some steps require more than one individual to complete production.
- The time to move from beginning to end can take 5+ days to get your order in the mail.
- Your risk of crossing-contaminating data increases with every additional step your project runs through.
Cutting the Process Down to Two Steps
At Documation – we’re all about protecting you and your business. That’s why we’ve invested so heavily in our inkjet production technology. It has enabled us to save customers printing legal and financial statements both time and money – as well as reduce their risks immensely by automating their production process.
By producing statement documents with our inkjet technology, we’ve been able to cut the production process down to two simple steps. Here’s how we do it:
It all starts with your data, and we’ve secured HIPPA certification (and we’re in the midst of our SOC2 certification as well) to ensure that we help you keep those government auditors happy. We also help ensure your data is cleaned and updated to reflect the most up-to-date information for recipients with the USPS. We then pass the data through directly to our HP T-200 inkjet press for production.
On a single roll of paper and in a single pass, we’re able to print both the traditional “statement shell” and the personalized data for each individual recipient. The roll is wound up in the delivery of the press where we transport it directly to a converter for finishing. As the roll unwinds in finishing, it is cut, folded, inserted and sealed for delivery to the USPS.
Unlocking Tremendous Time Savings
Traditional production methods typically come out to 100-150 sheets/hour when you add up all the steps in the process. With inkjet production – you can be outputting 24,000 documents/hour on a single machine. We can even double up your project on our second inkjet press to boost that up to 48,000 documents/hour and get you in the hands of your audience days sooner than with traditional statement production methods.
